Today I tried to learn about "dewpoints" and "frostpoints" and stuff, but that was confusing. Instead I learned that the singer Mika is younger than me, born in April of '83. Dammit! Quit being younger than me, successful creative people! God. That's just rude.

132, 133, 134, 135, 136
Well, this was bound to happen sooner or later. I totally slacked off for an entire week and didn't do my blog. I honestly have been very busy/not home much, but I'll admit that I was mostly lazy. The good news is that this long hiatus almost prompted me to just give up on the project entirely, but somehow today I guilted myself into coming back. Anyway, for Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday:
The Clash's "Rock the Casbah" was inspired by the ban on rock music in Iran. The Clash is all, "Forget that! Let's rock the casbah!" I agree, boys.
There is a whole list of songs that Clear Channel made up after 9-11 that their radio stations were not supposed to play for a while after the attacks. It seems kind of retarded to me; I mean, off the top of my head, the list includes Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" but not "The Only Living Boy in New York." Stupid.
I learned, um, some things about COTA and how the COTA buses work, but not enough to actually catch the bus I wanted to catch. Still. I know more than I did before.
I learned how far a walk it is from Lane Avenue to Vet's Memorial (4 miles).
One reason why we don't pee while we're sleeping at night is that the body produces an antidiuretic every evening. This keeps the kidneys from producing much urine, so your bladder isn't full until morning. The other reason is that you learn to wake up if your bladder feels full.
More tomorrow.

126, 127, 128
Saturday I learned what makes bratwurst so delicious. There isn't much to Johnsonville brats, they're mostly just pork, corn syrup, and a few seasonings. Mmmm, sugary pork. More please.
Yesterday I looked up the lyrics to "Asleep" by the Smiths because it is in the book that I am reading right now (The Perks of Being a Wallflower). It's about killing yourself, go figure.
Today I looked up "weck," the original third W in "BW3s." I had learned that before but forgotten, so it's okay. Weck is short for "kummelweck" which is a type of roll with caraway seeds and pretzel salt on top; a common food in the Buffalo area is a beef on weck sandwich, which is, uh, pretty much what it sounds like. B-Dubs originally served this sandwich but now they don't. They also do not serve me free wings, even though they should.

Eighty eight, Eighty nine
Wednesday I learned that they have four (?) new sauces for the wings at Hoggy's: bourbon barbecue, cajun rub, garlic ranch, and...um...maybe it's just three. They also have flatbread pizzas and some other new stuff. I really liked the cajun rub wings, but I still can't eat more than, like, eight, so...that sucks.
And today I learned that Nickel Creek is coming to Columbus in August, so I don't have to go to Cleveland to see them after all...and fortunately, I hadn't bought those tickets yet. Yay! Finally procrastinating pays off.

Forty four
Oh, this is so much better than I could've hoped. The song Mah Na Mah Na (Wikipedia will redirect you from "manamana," haha) originally "debuted as part of [Piero] Umiliani's soundtrack for the Italian softcore pornography movie Svezia, Inferno e Paradiso (Sweden, Heaven and Hell) (1968), a pseudo-documentary film about wild sexual activity and other behavior in Sweden ("Mah Nà Mah Nà" accompanied a scene set in a sauna)."
Yes! Not Muppets...porn! Of course. The two go so well together. See Wikipedia for more information about the song, the Muppets, and other uses.
Haha. Porn.
